Once keys are generated, we can use ToXmlString or ExportParameters method to read the keys. The ToXmlString method returns key information in XML as a string. The method takes a Boolean parameter. If passed false, it returns public key only. If passed true, it returns both private and public pair. The following code snippet returns a public key. Output values: Randomly generated p =337 q = 149 phi = 49728 Encryption key = 8893 k = 7 Private key = 39 (There is another problem here: Encryption and Private keys should be the same. No where in the code have i changed ekey during decryption.) Public key = 39 Modulus = 50213 End Update 4. Now, since RSA keys are so large (often 1024 bits and above), the primes have to be at least half that (at least 512 bits then). Such large primes would be difficult to generate (you'd have to check many, many numbers and try to factor each of them), so I understand that the typical approach is to use pre-generated lists of large primes.
